Format conversion is almost always somebody else's requirement rather than your preference: a marketplace that only takes JPEG, a design tool that wants PNG, a performance audit asking for WebP. The job is dull and the stakes are low until you convert a transparent logo to JPEG and hand over something with a white box around it.

Which image format should I use?
WebP for the web, since it is smallest at the same quality and universally supported now. PNG when you need transparency or exact pixels, like logos and screenshots. JPEG when the file has to open anywhere, including old software.
Does converting between formats lose quality?
Converting to PNG or WebP-lossless does not. Converting to JPEG or lossy WebP does, because those formats discard data by design. Converting a JPEG to PNG does not restore what the JPEG already threw away.
What happens to transparency when I convert to JPG?
It is flattened onto white, because JPEG has no alpha channel. Anything that was see-through becomes solid, which is usually visible around logos and cut-out product shots.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes, and there is no cap on how many. They all convert locally, so a batch of fifty is limited by your device rather than by a queue or a daily allowance.
